How do students request a letter of recommendation from teachers?

Some college applications in Common App require, or can optionally include, letters of recommendation from teachers. Students can follow the steps below to request one.

1. Click on Colleges

2. Click on Common App

3. Click on Teacher Assigned status

4. Choose one of your teachers

5. Choose the Subject that is most appropriate

6. Enter information about the Classes Taken with this teacher

7. Enter information about Projects You're Proud of

8. Enter information about Memorable Moments

9. Enter information about Challenges Overcome

10. Add additional teachers if desired

11. Click on Get Teacher Recommendations
