How do I (student) create a Career Portfolio?

This article provides an overview of the various portfolio tabs and additional resources to support students in building portfolios.

Note: Some components outside of the portfolio tabs, such as Industry Certifications, Honors & Awards, and CTSOs/Clubs, appear on the Public View of your profile.

1. Click Build Portfolio in the Quick Links

You can also access your Career Portfolio in the navigation menu on the left (Careers>Portfolio).

2. Complete the Introduction tab

The introduction tab includes information related to your personal interests, career objectives, strengths, achievements, and post-secondary plans. More information on the Introduction tab can be found here.

3. Complete the Resume tab

On this tab, you can highlight specific skills, record employment history, upload your resume, cover letter, and job application examples. More information on the Resume tab can be found in the following resources:

4. Complete the Recommendations tab.

On the Recommendations tab, you can provide your counselors with relevant information to include in their recommendation letters. You can also include testimonials, reference information, and upload letters of recommendation. For more information on completing the Recommendations tab, please visitย this link.

5. Create Goals

You can create S.M.A.R.T. goals with AI. For more information about creating goals, see the following resources:

6. Complete the Best Works tab

Use this tab to highlight your best work. To learn about creating Best Works, click here.

7. Click on Recognition

You can upload the Awards and Honors you have received to this tab. Recognition can also be added by your school.

8. Click Public View to see your Portfolio in the professional webpage format.

The URL of the Public View is your personalized link.
