What are the different signer types? How can I make sure a form will be sent to a specific type of signer?

Last updated About 3 hours ago

When creating a form template, you have the option to select the signers that will be responsible for different sections and fields of that form. A signer type has to be connected to the form template or that type of signer will not appear as an option to assign fields to in the builder and/or as an option to send the form to once you are ready to submit it for signing.

For more information on how to create a form template and/or assign signers please see this article.

The signer types are:

  • Static Signer: A specific person who always signs this part of the form. Enter their name and email, and the form goes to them automatically.

  • Dynamic Signer: Someone you don't know ahead of time. The person submitting the form enters their name and email.

  • Current User: Whoever is logged in and submitting the form.

  • Employer: Choose from the employer contacts in the system.

  • Guardian: Choose from the guardians in the system.

  • Role: A role such as "Principal", with its members managed in one place. This is better than a Static Signer when the person might change: update the role's member once instead of every template. There is no “Staff” signer so creating a role is useful when you need a staff account to sign/fill out portions of the form.

    • For more information on how to add and/or edit roles, please refer to this article.

  • Sending School: Choose from the sending school accounts in the system.

  • Student: Choose from the student accounts in the system.

  • Teacher: Choose from the teacher accounts in the system.

  • WBL Coordinator: Choose from the WBL Coordinator accounts in the system.

  • Counselor: Choose from the counselor accounts in the system.

Please note that if a form is connected to a specific student and/or experience, the system will limit the contact information to only contacts associated with that student. An example is: A coordinator is submitting a form for Student A. When submitting that form, the guardian will populate based on the guardian associated with Student A, only teachers who are associated with Student A will appear in the teacher drop down and so on.
