For students

  1. How do I search for Work-Based Learning opportunities and express interest?

  2. How do favorite job titles help match me with opportunities?

  3. How do I set my work availability?

  4. How do I apply for an opportunity, and what do the different statuses mean?

For WBL coordinators, teachers, and admins

  1. How do I match and compare candidates for a WBL opportunity?

  2. How do I place a student in an opportunity and record a hire?

  3. How do I link a local employer to the Pathful Opportunities job board?

  4. How do I configure general Work-Based Learning settings?

The big picture

At a high level, the student and coordinator journeys look like this:

Student: set preferences (favorite job titles + work availability) β†’ browse or get recommended opportunities β†’ express interest β†’ wait for coordinator approval β†’ apply β†’ report the hire outcome.

Coordinator: use Match Candidates (by opportunity or by student) to find and compare good-fit candidates β†’ approve a placement or place & hire directly β†’ confirm the hire and start the WBL Experience.

Most coordinator actions β€” approving placements, matching, comparing candidates, placing, and hiring β€” are limited to users in the Work-Based Learning Coordinator group.
