How do I configure general Work-Based Learning settings?

Last updated About 9 hours ago

The Work-Based Learning Settings window is organized into three tabs β€” Experiences, On-Site Visits, and Opportunities β€” covering how experiences behave, on-site visit requirements, and opportunity search.

You can open these settings from the Work-Based Learning page by clicking Settings β†’ General Settings in the upper right corner.

Opportunities tab

This tab controls what students see when they search for opportunities, and how they're matched:

Shown Opportunity Types

All / Only Defined Generic Types β€” whether students can see opportunity types that don't have a configured eligibility definition

Opportunity Types Exempt from Eligibility

Multi-select of WBL types students can pursue without needing to be marked eligible first

Search Radius

How many miles from the student's ZIP code to search for opportunities (default is typically 15)

ZIP Code Priority

Drag to reorder, click to enable/disable which ZIP code source is used first when searching (for example, the student's own ZIP vs. their school's ZIP). Organization ZIP is always the locked final fallback.

Show Opportunities from

Approved Employers (opportunities whose employer is linked to your local employer database) / All Employers

The Search Radius, ZIP Code Priority, and Show Opportunities from controls also appear in Global Settings β†’ Integration, so they stay consistent wherever opportunity search is configured.
